Many Americans score low when it comes to financial knowledge, and it turns out some states also get low grades. Here are the states that score lowest in a recent ranking by WalletHub.

WalletHub computes three scores for each state. The literacy rank reflects its grading of more than 21,000 responses nationwide to its financial literacy survey. The ranking for financial planning and habits includes such metrics as a state’s median credit score, how many of its residents have rainy-day funds, how many are saving for their children’s college educations and how many are unbanked. The financial knowledge and education rating includes each state’s high-school financial literacy grades, its high school graduation rate and the portion of residents using online financial services,
